Adding images to your post is a piece of cake!

Add photos to your blog post by simply choosing the image you wish to use from the recommendations, and drag it where you want it to go in the text editor! Want it at the beginning at your blog post - just click on the recommendation.

To remove the image, simply click on it in the Zemanta sidebar, and it will be gone! Or you can select the image in the text editor and press the delete or backspace button.

#3 Recommended Links

Adding hyperlinks is easy peasy lemon squeezy with Zemanta's single-click link suggestions.

As you write your blog post, Zemanta picks out which people and terms are important in the text, and shows you link recommendations to include. And in one click, instantly inserts the hyperlink. If you want more control, you can choose the source to link to from a drop down menu. No more copy-pasting  embed codes, or scouring the web hunting down URLs.

Choose to link to one of our many sources such as; IMDB, Amazon.com, Rotten Tomatoes, Last.fm, homepages, Wikipedia, Youtube, Wikiinvest stock charts, Last.FM radio widgets, Google maps and many more.

#4 Recommended Tags

Adding tags to your blog post can be a chore. Let Zemanta give you a hand!

As you write your blog post, Zemanta is analyzing your text behind the scenes and picking up the most important keywords. These keywords are then translated into your suggested tags/labels. We take out the hard work by making it one click away to be added to the list of tags for your post.

Adding tags to your post not only makes it easier for your readers to navigate through your blog archives, but it also helps you boost your SEO ranking by giving search engines more ways to find your content.

#5 Refine

If you're not finding the right content from Zemanta's recommendations, try refining your results.

Not finding the right content from our suggestions? No worries, refine your results by using the Refine bar to find relevant content to perfectly suit your blog post. The filter option is not your classic search as it still takes into account your text, but it also allows you to specify a term that the Zemanta recommendation engine should keep an eye out for while suggesting content.

How can I insert more than one image into my blog?

You can insert multiple images by dragging the image into the text editor to where you want it in your blog post. See our tutorial on how to do this.

Where do keyword links come from?
We use many online databases to get semantic information about names, objects, things you write about.

Wikipedia, IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Amazon, CrunchBase, Google Maps, Last.fm, YouTube, MusicBrainz, Snooth wines, Wikinvest, Muzu.tv, ChaCha, Uptake, ...

Where do you get images from?

They are selected from Wikimedia Commons, Flickr and various stock photo providers. Selection is based on contextual comparison of your text and the image's title, description and articles they were used in originally.

Where do related articles come from?

We index over 50,000 top media sources and quality blogs of our users.

Why do most of the links point to Wikipedia?
Placing semantically smart links is a hard problem. We decided to give you this tool and let you help us shape its future development. We will be suggesting links to many more sources in the future. Please share your expectations with us.

Under the hood

What languages do you support?

Right now we only support English, but if you blog in other languages and mention trademarks, universal words, and buzzwords Zemanta might still be useful.

How do you decide what is a good recommendation?

We analyze your post through our proprietary natural language processing and semantic algorithms, and statistically compare its contextual framework to our preindexed database of content.

How do I get my posts recommended to others?

You can send us a link and we'll consider it for inclusion. See our guidelines here: How to get your feed into Zemanta?

Are there any privacy issues I should be aware of?

We process the text you're writing, but we don't share it with anyone. So no, not really.

Are you trying to replace the role of the blogger?

Hardly! We're providing the tools to make bloggers more successful at what they do, by accelerating and automating the work of gathering and filtering information. As a result, Zemanta helps you make your posts more compelling and informative - to keep more readers coming back.

Anything else

Do you care about copyright at all?

Yes, very much. All content that we are recommending is copyright cleared - either clearly licensed as Creative Commons, approved by stock providers or can be used under the fair use principle. When hovering over the image Zemanta prints out the license so you can decide if image license is appropriate for your intended use.

How can I get Zemanta to give me better recommendations?

Use proper spelling, grammar, and complete sentences. Zemanta works best if you just write naturally. It's also best to write a paragraph or so before expecting too much from the service. After you've composed most of your blog post, then watch as Zemanta automatically updates its recommendations for you. We also suggest that you write about a limited number of topics within the same article. And since every bit of feedback is valuable to us, please report any problems!

What is promoted content?

promoted tag tag is full disclosure of Zemanta having a commercial relationship with the publisher. These publishers are paying us to be part of recommendations pool, or paying us per number of recommendations. Promoted status does not guarantee the content to be recommended in our network.

Publishers cannot buy a place among recommendations:

  1. Zemanta recommendation engine will always return best recommendations, but promoted content may be ranked differently than the rest.
  2. We markup such content sources to disclose the difference to users.

Promoted content is one of three types of content in our pool. The other two are:

  1. Feeds from mainstream media and notable bloggers.
  2. Feeds from Zemanta users.

Promoted is an experimental feature and we will highly appreciate if you help us improve it by filling out our Content Satisfaction Survey.

If you get inappropriate or irrelevant recommendations, please let us know immediately by sending an email to content@zemanta.com or filling out the form bellow. We highly appreciate this feedback as it helps us improve the service.
