Providing rich examples in blog posts is key to educating and entertaining our readers. That’s why all modern platforms allow embeding of rich objects like YouTube videos so we’re not limited to just static text with images. To give you more powers as a bloggers we’re expanding our existing offering of YouTube, Google Maps and Last.fm widgets with three new ones: SlideShare, 5min and Wikinvest. Other notable changes

  • bigger images: we increased the default image size to 300px width
  • 17.9% less fat: our interface code runs even faster now. We optimized many routines to make sure that we don’t slow you down while you are creating your latest masterpiece.
  • Windows Live Writer stability improvements in interface. As we updated just scripts, there is no need to reinstall plugin.
  • Firefox Extension got smarter – we’ll be able to show you what’s new when we release upgrades as well as ask you tell us why you uninstalled Zemanta so we can improve the service.

All updates are already available to all users on supported platforms. New rich objects in action SlideShare is the world’s largest community for sharing presentations.

  • Dan,

As you know, I am a big and long standing fan of Zemanta - use it all the time. So please take this in the positive light that it's meant.

In a post about "Providing rich examples in blog posts", and especially with a sub-heading like "New rich objects in action", none of the examples are truly 'rich'. A picture of action is action that has been stopped, and is not in action any more.

Don't pauperize the post by providing pictures of the stuff in action. If these tools work in our blogs, then they'll work in yours as well! Would've taken practically no time at all to find and embed a few working examples.

    hello..

Excuse me to ask you this...

where the new content recommendatios (5 mm, slideshare) are supposed to appear?in the reccommended links?
  • zemanta
They will appear in Gallery along-side images, if we have any of them to
recommend and if your blogging platform supports them.
  • very nice indeed.
I can now remove some of the other blog plugins and simply focus on Zemanta
  • This is simply a "wicked-good" little app! I really like this Zemanta widget :)
  • the only thing i don't like about zemanta is its over confidence in wikipedia_ are you in anyway professionally committed to trying to boost wikipedia's__ pagerank??
  • zemanta
Nope, it's just that Wikipedia has most extensive content, so it's much
more likely that it knows something about the topic you're writing about.

  • Congratulations for the new implementations made by Zemanta. I already use the tools Zemanta to further enrich the posts on my blog. Just let the lack WLW Plugin more complete than it is. A big hug.
