Zemanta Hangout with Google: How The Editorial Assistant Helps Publishers

Blogger.com hosted Andraz and Kris from Zemanta on their Hangout on Air last Friday. They explained how you can use the extension to liven up your blog posts and did a live demo.

So, you’ve written a great piece of text. Congratulations! But to publish a great blog post you need to do much more.

You need to provide context:

  1. Find images to make it visually appealing
  2. Create links to relevant sites to provide further explanations
  3. Tag the post with appropriate keywords to make it easy to find
  4. Provide further reading to establish authority

These are the daunting tasks every publisher must do to get ahead. But you are not alone. Zemanta editorial assistant is with you.

Let Andraz and Kris tell you more about it.

As SEO goes, search engines try to think as much as humans, so you should ask yourself “What would a human full of knowledge and authority add (or remove) to this article?”. Probably pointing to relevant sources and illustrating the thought with a photo that makes it easier to understand is the right thing to do.

I just wonder, does this kind of linking to another source good for SEO or something else. Please give me some advice.
