Zemanta December Release: More links!
Posted by jure, under releases, zemanta on December 22nd, 2008
Working towards smarter Zemanta recommendations, we’re proud to announce another big milestone in development – learned hyperlinks. What exactly does that mean?
Up until now, Zemanta used different databases like Wikipedia, Amazon and IMDB to generate hyperlinks and to learn about the state of the world. With our latest development, we’ve also started to look at other things bloggers are linking to and are not necessarily part of our existing databases.

With this new release we added about 6000 new most commonly used links to our database. As they’re very popular, there’s a high chance that we’ll be able to suggest new types of things to link for your next blog post.
This feature is a bit experimental for now, so let us know how we’re doing and if you’re getting results back that you expected.
Secondly, we’re also starting to experiment with measuring some click-through rates. For certain mainstream media recommendations, you’ll see links that go through r.zemanta.com redirection service. If any of the bloggers that we recommend articles to wants to see these statistics for their blog, we can turn it on also for you. Send us email with your blog feed.
