Zemanta adds Last.fm widgets and links

Posted by jure, under releases on March 24th, 2009

Blogging about our favorite music is something we just can’t get enough. There’s something about the music that makes you happy or even sad and how it connectes us with our friends when we share it with them. Our newest partnership with Last.fm brings you that extra dimension to your writing – interactive Last.fm widgets.

As of today, you’ll find a new widget in Zemanta Gallery – Last.fm musicians radio widget, that allows you to directly embed their radio station into your blog posts. It doesn’t play just that artist, but also similar artist to them. Support is not only limited to widgets as music related links now also have that musicians or album Last.fm page as linking option.

Zemanta Last.Fm

This produces a widget like this:

Together with this release, we’re also expanding our rich gallery support to Typepad. This means that Last.fm widgets work on WordPress.com and .org, Blogger and Typepad.

Let us know how the new widget works for you by blogging about your latest artist that you discovered. Give Last.fm widget via Zemanta a try and live a link to your blog posts in comments here. We’ll feature best entries in a blog post.

    Oh, Guys, you are geniuses!!!!
Please, tell me you are going to make it possible to insert an artist's radio not only into one's blog, but also into one's e-mail, so that you can send nice and fancy mails with a player inside!!
Otherwise – freaking awesome job!! Thank you!

Angie, we'd love to have that! Right now it seems that there are some
limitations (e.g. gmail won't play those radios), but we're definitely
keeping an eye on developments in this area. We just might have
something for you down the road :)
