Image via CrunchBase, source unknown We’ve been busy reading your survey answers, and we noticed that some of you are reporting that Zemanta slows down your browser. Since our previous release already significantly optimized this area of code, I asked engineers what’s going on.
They explained to me that Zemanta uses a lot of JavaScript which runs at different speeds in various browsers. The slowest execution times are in Internet Explorer 6 and 7, with a bit better performance in Firefox 2. The clearest winner is right now Firefox 3, that is significantly faster than the others.
Just by switching to Firefox 3 (free download for Windows, Mac, Linux) your Zemanta experience should get better, as well as your overall performance in your favorite blogging web site.
