We just released a new version of Zemanta Firefox Extension. This release increases security of our GMail/YMail as now JavaScript and CSS files are loaded via https whenever the webmail itself is loaded via the secure connection. We’ll be also shortly releasing updated version of our Internet Explorer plugin with the same fixes.

This release also changes how Zemanta loads on GMail/YMail if used over secure connection. In that case we won’t load the initial photos and related articles as they are served from http connection, which could theoretically be insecure.

Let us know if you see any problems with this update, and special thanks to Prateek Saxena for notifying us about the issue.

  • I installed the 0.6 upgrade to my Firefox plug-in on a Linux 3ePC system which is only running Firefox 2.0.20. As soon as I upgraded, I 'lost' Zemanta. I enjoy your product and it does help with tags and art searches--how can I revert to the previous version or fix the issue so that Zemanta is working on my system again (blogging via Wordpress.com

You can install previous version from:

    We'll investigate what's happening with 2.0.20 compatibility.
