Multiple Images and Drag and Drop with Zemanta

Posted by jure, under zemanta on October 1st, 2008

Looking at all the great blog posts you write every day, we quickly realized that they’re often long enough or cover in-depth topics that require multiple images per post.

With our latest release, we added ability to insert multiple images into blog posts. Just grab the image and drop it into the place where you want it to show up. Then you can move it around and use your normal blog image tools to further modify placement and appearance.

This is already part of our current release, so you can start using it immediately.

Is this a server-side change or will we need to update the plugin?

  • jure

This is already part of current release and works for everyone. I’ll update blog post to make this clear.

Yeah, there were so many things included in September release that we couldn’t inform everyone that drag’n'drop is also done now!

    bye

Fantastic – I was just thinking yesterday how useful multi-images would be. Are there any other secrets in that release?

This is great – one of the things I was waiting for. I use Zemanta for nearly every blog post I write on a couple of blogs.

Any chance you might provide a text version?

  • andraz

Well, the instructions are so simple, just “drag and drop” … what else it is to it? :)

  • InternetStrategist

LOL – well since there was a video I assumed there was more to it than that. I've tried moving them around in posts but they didn't stay where I put them in the past. I'll try again.

And thank you for recommending my blog in your related posts section. That is how I found out about Zemanta and found new related blogs. They bring in some traffic too.

I'll keep mentioning you at Twitter, FriendFeed, and cliKball.

I was hoping you would come up with this feature soon. Way to go guys.

It didn't work like that for me on Blogger.

Can get one picture, but the second keeps replacing the first one.

The drag and drop also doesn't do it.

But at least I can get one picture.

    thanks,
    Mitchell

  • zemanta

Make sure to drag the image into your form and that you're not just
    clicking on images!

  • Mitchell1969

Thanks…well, if I drag the image into the blog post area, I get something like this:
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/t….

And, that doesn't even work to get a photo on preview or publish on blogger.

The other way of clicking on the image will get me code as well–but at least it works to get a visual when I publish it. Of course, if I double click on another image, it replaces the first one. That's the problem.

    Thanks,
    Mitchell

Make sure you are in “Compose” mode (tab in upper-right of edit box) and
_not_ in “Edit Html” mode. If you are in Html mode, drag and drop won't
    work.

  • Mitchell1969

    You are brilliant!

    Thanks,
    Mitchell

    Hello!
Although I find the zemanta programme interesting, unusual and useful, I also find that it seems to make my PC run slower!
I'm on Firefox, does that have anything to do with it?
I still use it, but not everywher, sinc sometimes it's impossible to finish an article.

  • zemanta

Slower in what way? Can you send a more detailed report to
    support@zemanta.com please! Thanks!

  • lexihel

Won't work in gmail, it keeps aligning all images side-by-side
