With NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) at the middle, a lot of us bloggers are wondering where to get that one more idea for a blog post. Where to take the inspiration from?

Luckily for us, Luke Gedeon, presented an excellent idea – use default Picture in Zemanta. He writes:

So why am I telling you about this? Because I happen to know a few people who are having trouble thinking of something to blog about. Here is my idea: Install Zemanta (or get me to do it for you) and then pick your favorite each day and tell why you like it, or use the pictures as inspiration for a post. That is what happened with the Zebra post yesterday. Try it. I will be fun!

Mr. Wizard then took this idea and ran with it even further:

I thought I’d put a little spin on the idea and write a haiku:

It’s now up to you to either use the initial screen image for inspirational blog post or even as initial idea generator for a haiku.

  • How are the default pictures chosen? Is it just random?

  • I love the idea of Zemanta but I'm having a bit of trouble figuring it out. Help! If I'm on a friend's blog and want to quote from it to my blog, how do I do that????? Is there a tutorial for "plucking" from others and maintaining the credit to their blog? Thanks.

The only way you can "reblog" right now if your friend is blogging with
Zemanta. Otherwise you can just install Zemanta Firefox extension to get
recommendations to different web places while you write.
  • Heh, if there is no idea for blog post then don´t blog.
It¨s much better to write when you have some interesting idea, than trying to write something only because you must...
  • At my old job, I used to send a Haiku to the staff every Friday. It became a great tradition. The Haiku is such an underutilized form of communication.
  • hey tihs seems to be insteresting.... i ve never tried Zementa... but it looks good...
  • Blog posts do not always have to be the most 'interesting' some of my random blogs become my best pieces. I love the idea of a haiku, and pictures make a blog that much better, go on with your bad self.
