Demo impressions

I thought I’ll be able to do some live blogging from the conference, but unfortunately, I’ve been taken back by the famous high-tech conference virus - lack of bandwidth. The only conference where I could use wireless efficiently was LeWeb3, kudos to them!
Otherwise, Demo.com is quite a ride, partly because of density and diversity of companies presenting revolutionary products, partly because of a great venue in the middle of the dessert and golf courses (note the oxymoron), and partly because of very interesting people who are gathered here and happy to discuss the future of technology while sipping coffee and waiting for the next demo.
We were very proud to see our good friends from UK launching their next generation collaboration platform here - check Huddle.net, they’re great! Among other new services, I can suggest ribbit, xtranormal, hubdub, youchoose, and Sprout.

It’s been a while since we’ve traveled, so we decided it was time to pay a visit to the west coast. So hi from underneath the famous hill sign! Me and Ales just got to Los Angeles, California, because this week, we are going to visit the Demo.com conference.
We are not actually launching here, me and Ales will be just lurking to meet some more interesting people and learn something about properly launching products.
First impressions? (a) life is cheap here, (b) cars are huge, (c) it looks exactly like in the movies. Who would guess right.
We had quite a bad weather forecast, but now that we’re here they’ve changed it to mostly sunny for the whole week. This reminds me of the times in London, where we had roughly 2 rainy days in three months.
Zemanta, bringing sunshine to the coast near you!

- spending lot’s of time with ultra-bright people in a place stuffed with cables
- sorting out beurocracy stuff in the middle of the night, because that’s when the brain can take a rest
- having an office in the tango dance hall
- staying in the office for two work-days in one day, because of a crazy self-imposed deadline, at least two times a week
- receiving a call in the middle of the night, from a guy who is completely thrilled about a possibility to work along
… just for a taste of a regular ‘finally going home to hack some more in peace’ attitude at Zemanta…
